Hi! I’m Haokun Zhao, a research assistant in the Rose STL Lab at UC San Diego, working with Prof. Rose Yu. I received my M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC San Diego, and my B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, where I was advised by Prof. Jicong Fan. I have also collaborated with Prof. Chenyu You at Stony Brook University.

My research interests lie broadly in large language models (LLMs), agentic systems, and AI for science, with a particular focus on building intelligent, efficient, and interpretable AI systems for real-world scientific discovery.

📢 I’m actively seeking fully funded Ph.D. positions for Fall 2027 in the U.S. If my background and research experience align with your interests, please feel free to reach out via email — I would be happy to discuss potential research directions and collaborations. Please see my CV for more details.
